Samsara Suites IO Orchestra EXPERIMENTAL DAS UBERMENSCH FRICTION

Friction

In his senior year of high school Caeser Pink joined a newly forming group that came to be called Friction. The group was one of the first to introduce punk rock to the many small towns across the state of Pennsylvania. An often daunting, and sometimes dangerous task.

Altough the music could be raw, it also leaned towards the more artistic side of Punk rock (Talking Heads, Gang Of Four, XTC). Lyrics often spoke of working class issues and the frustrations of small town life.

The group released an EP, and two full length LPs. Their album "Primitive Touch" received a rave review on MTV's 120 Minutes show. The group also had the unusual honor of being broadcast across the world on Radio Moscow, the Soviet Union's propaganda radio network, the week before Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev made his historic first visit to the United States.

The broadcasts also featured a letter from Caeser offering music as a gateway to peace between people of the two nations.
