Yesterday I rode that Jamaica train
Looking down on that little world
Burning barrels, graffiti streets
Can you dream in those alleyways?
Can you make love in sidewalk steam?
On a cool summer's night
Pour the vodka in paper cups
Turn the mirror to face the walls
I've been lost in a land of ghosts
The past weighs heavy and Sisyphus laughs
Purple roses and litany
Tonight I will mourn
Reveries lead me through hometown streets
Love's bitter mystery darkens the skies
As cool winds blow I call out to the moon
Why do you mock this servant's ache
Patchouli stains and pillars of salt
It's only the dying of Ero's faith
With summer's demise hearts fossilize
The pahos of life veils my sight
But Ornelia's hair turns blue in the moonlight
Mina's laughter drowns out inner wails
Like an orchid blood through dry concrete
Beauty raw and vital reveals itself
Blue Orchids bloom for me
