I come from small town
There's a mad man who's living there
He walks the streets with funny clothes on
Oblivious to those that stare
He lives from day to day
But he might know more than you or I
While we know the proper things to do
He once stopped and asked himself why
And the world laughs at him?
I come from a small town
The homes are filled with suicide
They see no hope for a future there
But then they've never even thought to try
They've been taught that new ideas
Are something you should fight against
They've got no interest in the world
And the best place to hide is underground
Should the world pity them?
I come from a small town
There's lot of rich people living there
They never come outside their houses
There are sights out there that they can't bear
Guilt can be painful
When you've forgotten how to care
Even if they would like to help
All that they can think to do is stare
And the world envies them?
